The isekai genre in anime has had a revival of sorts, and there’s a reason behind it. In the past, isekai anime would transport the protagonist to a new world as they were. That was great at first, but then something changed.
Along with transporting them to new worlds, the creators started transforming the protagonist too. A prime example is Overlord, where the protagonist becomes his in-game avatar.
Other notable isekai anime with similarly interesting premises include That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, Reincarnated As A Sword, and many more.
Our long list of isekai anime got another wonderful addition when Saga of Tanya the Evil came out in January 2017. Fans loved both the premise and the animation. The character design was also superb, and all of it got elevated by the evil protagonist of the series.
5 years since season 1 finished airing, it’s about time for Saga of Tanya The Evil Season 2. And finally, there’s some exciting news. But first, a look back at everything we’ve seen so far.

Where To Watch Saga Of Tanya The Evil?
The Saga of Tanya The Evil Season 1 finished in March 2017. It has 12 episodes with an average runtime of 23 minutes. And it’s available on Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime Video, and Funimation.
However, out of these 3, Crunchyroll is the only choice for US viewers. Because Saga of Tanya The Evil Season 1 is locked out for US viewers on Funimation and Amazon Prime Video.
A little heads up, Crunchyroll messed up the numbering, accidentally listing it as S3 instead of S1. But all the episodes are there.
And now to Saga of Tanya The Evil Season 2.
Saga Of Tanya The Evil Season 2 Release Date & Trailer
After season 1 finished, fans were eager for the Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2. But, before any news on Season 2, we got the Saga of Tanya The Evil: The Movie.
The movie premiered on February 8, 2019, and it’s absolutely unmissable. We wouldn’t call it the best anime movie of 2019, but you must watch it because it is canon.
It’s a direct sequel to Season 1 and will connect to Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2. But when will Season 2 come out?
We’ve had the official announcement and teaser for Season 2 since June 2021. And months later, a voice-over teaser is the only piece of official information about Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2.
To summarize it all, we know there will be a Youjo Senki Season 2, and we know that it’s already in the works, but we don’t know when it will air.
Now, you can believe dead rumors about an early 2023 release date, or wait for the official news from NUT, the animation studio for Saga of Tanya the Evil season 2.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 will start off with Tanya returning to the front line. Her research will be cut short, and she will once again lock horns with Mary Sioux. Only this time, the Empire might also be looking to get rid of the Devil of the Rhine.
As the voice-over teaser suggests, the Empire “has an increased number of enemies,” and the “situation is not favorable.” There are also talks about getting rid of “one military officer,” and fans know all too well who this officer might be.

Where To Watch Saga Of Tanya The Evil Season 2?
There’s no official confirmation yet, but by the looks of it, Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 will follow suit of Season 1 and The Movie. That means, Crunchyroll will stream the Saga of Tanya the Evil 2 in the US.
With all the cast members reprising their roles and excellent source material to work with, Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 should be worth the wait and the hype. Our concern, however, is that the long delay might put out the hype flame.
