The 56th Annual Country Music Association Awards (“CMA Awards”) will be held on November 11, 2020. The CMA Awards is an annual event that celebrates and honors the best in country music. This year, the CMA Awards has nominated some of the biggest names in country music. Here is an overview of the nominees and how the voting process works.
Nominees Announced
The CMA Awards has announced the nominees for the 2020 awards show. Country music superstars, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have been nominated for Entertainer of the Year. Other nominees for this category include Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.
In the Female Vocalist of the Year category, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert, and Kacey Musgraves have been nominated. Male Vocalist of the Year nominees are Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Eric Church, and Luke Bryan.
Award Categories
In addition to the Entertainer of the Year and Vocalist of the Year categories, the CMA Awards also includes awards for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. Album of the Year nominees include Luke Combs’ “What You See Is What You Get”, Eric Church’s “Heart”, and Maren Morris’ “Girl”.
Song of the Year nominees include Miranda Lambert’s “Bluebird”, Luke Combs’ “Better Together”, and Maren Morris’ “The Bones”. Music Video of the Year nominees are Eric Church’s “Stick That In Your Country Song”, Luke Combs’ “Beer Never Broke My Heart”, and Maren Morris’ “GIRL”.
Voting Process
The CMA Awards will be decided by fan voting. Fans can vote for their favorite nominees in each category on the CMA Awards website. Fans can vote once per day until October 13, 2020. After October 13, the votes will be tallied and the winners of the CMA Awards will be announced on November 11, 2020.
