Guts is a swordsman whose life has been challenging since birth. His first encounter with Casca was far from friendly, but their feelings for each other grew with time until they eventually started a relationship.
Their love story was utterly ruined when Casca was assaulted by someone Guts once believed to be his friend while demons pinned him down and forced him to watch. He fought with all his might but couldn’t save his lover, and after what happened, Casca became so traumatized that the mere sight of her lover would give her panic attacks.
